"Credited with over 156 structures over his career, Dow would be most remembered for designing the Minnehaha County Courthouse (currently the Old Courthouse Museum) and the Pettigrew House and Museum. Everything from schools, churches, government buildings, private residences and even commercial blocks became a reflection of Dow's personality. Some of his most noted works can still be found in various towns today: Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, SD; Douglas County Courthouse, Armour, SD; Old Main, University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD; South Dakota School for the Deaf, Sioux Falls, SD; South Dakota State Penitentiary, Sioux Falls, SD; George D.
