"Knowing that teachers are not researchers and their lives are beyond busy, this book is designed to be a quick way to get a taste of dyslexia, without statistics and technical terms.... Dyslexia exhibits a variety of combinations of characteristics listed in this book as 'signs of dyslexia.' A student might show a few of the strengths or struggles in this book and not have dyslexia. Alternatively, a student with dyslexia will not show each and every one of the strengths or struggles in this book.... The examples in this book represent what dyslexia looks like in both boys and girls and in people of all ages. This book will not cover all there is to know about dyslexia and won't cover all the possible signs of it. My purpose is to give a quick glimpse into dyslexia for parents and for teachers who were not taught about it in their teacher preparation courses....
