She was born July 17, 1889, at Rapid City, the daughter of Jorgen and Anna Boe. At the age of 11 she moved with her family to Lyman County. She attended school through seventh grade. The family operated the Hilmoe township post office. She married Archie Ambur December 10, 1912. The couple homesteaded in Tripp County. In 1916 they returned to Hilmoe Township.
